About OctoPipe

OctoPipe is a paste focused pipe supplier

OctoPipe supplies steel wire reinforced composite pipe (SRCP) to mines running paste backfill and reticulation systems.

SRCP brings together the best of both established pipe materials: the pressure capability of steel and the light weight, flexibility and corrosion resistance of polyethylene. The result is a reticulation pipe that installs faster, handles more safely, lasts longer — and couples directly onto the steel systems mines already run. Proven in service at major underground operations internationally, SRCP gives paste plants a genuine step forward in how reticulation is built and maintained.

OctoPipe makes that step simple.

Genuine high pressure SRCP is produced by only a small number of manufacturers worldwide; we bring it within reach through direct OEM relationships, and back every shipment with independent quality assurance carried out by our own people at the point of manufacture.

01

Paste focused supplier

Paste and backfill pipe is our sole focus. Every product we carry belongs in a paste line.

02

Direct manufacturer relationships

OEM-direct access to a product that is otherwise difficult to source, at manufacturer pricing.

03

Independent quality assurance

Our own QA team inspects at the plant — dimensions, pressure and burst testing, packing and loading. Every shipment ships with a QA report.

04

Distribution and freight

We handle distribution and freight from factory to port. Our team will ensure your shipments are on time and delivered per your order.

Why SRCP?

The next generation of paste pipe

Direct compatibility with existing steel

Conversion can be staged level by level as development advances.

Galvanised steel end caps are machined to suit schedule SCH80 steel pipe and cut grooved to Victaulic ES / Shurjoint EP specifications.

Improved safety

Around 70% lighter than steel for safer handling.

Faster installation

Lightweight pipe and grooved couplings accelerate assembly.

Efficient transport

Move more pipe per lift with less equipment.

Simpler routing

Flexes with mine drives and ground movement.

Reduced pressure loss

Resists scale buildup, with higher abrasion resistance.

No corrosion

Built to withstand wet and acidic conditions.

OctoPipe product range

Steel reinforced composite pipe

Supplied in DN150 and DN200, pressure classes 3 to 13 MPa, with cut-grooved galvanised steel end caps compatible with Victaulic ES and Shurjoint EP high-pressure couplings. Grooved both ends as standard.

Exploded view of SRCP construction: internal HDPE liner, hot-melt adhesive layer, high-strength plastic-coated steel wire mesh, second adhesive layer and external HDPE jacket, with a finished length below

Internal HDPE liner

Smooth inner surface for low friction flow performance and corrosion resistance.

Hot melt adhesive layer

Bonds liner to reinforcement layer.

High strength steel wire mesh

Provides superior strength and pressure resistance.

External HDPE jacket

Protects against impact, abrasion and environmental factors.

Inspected at the point of manufacture

Quality assurance

Pipe manufactured overseas is normally released on the manufacturer's own inspection. OctoPipe applies an independent layer: our QA team inspects at the point of manufacture, verifies pressure ratings by test, and supervises packing and loading before shipment. A QA report is supplied with every shipment.

Dimensional inspection

One pipe in every twenty measured with calibrated instruments against a controlled drawing. A single non-conformance triggers further QA inspections.

Pressure and burst testing

Hydrostatic and burst testing is carried out at the manufacturing plant for each batch order, witnessed by OctoPipe personnel, confirming performance against the rated working pressure.

Marking and release

Full part number on every pipe; QC stickers on batch checked pipes, signed and dated by the inspector.

Loading supervision

Reconciled against the packing list. Fabric slings, capped ends, strapped bundles for safe and easy unloading.
